Overview

Located in the heart of Ishgard, The Enchanted Boutique is an exclusive shoppe with a focus on magical curios. It has a little bit of everything, but its specialties are rosaries and custom enchantments. Please check out our curios and services for more information, or ask one of our staff members. Why settle for a mundane solution when you can add a spark of magic to your life?

The Enchanted Staff

Miss Gwenolie Theroux: Gwenolie is the shoppe's main clerk and enchantress. Some may consider her a little eccentric, but her enthusiasm for finding magical solutions to mundane problems knows no bounds. Easily bored, she is always looking for other professionals to theorize about new enchantments with.Miss Amanette Ouraux: Amanette is a jewelmaker that specializes in the making of rosaries and pomanders. She loves to challenge herself with intricate and elaborate designs, which earned her the wroth of an (in her opinion) overly zealous Inquisitor who claimed such to be mere vanity not suitably directed towards prayer aids.
The headstrong jewelmaker has since opted to travel to Ul'dah to learn more about the crafting of actual jewelry so she may experiment to her hearts content without stepping on any religious toes.
Madam Maudine Dubois: Madam Dubois is an independent soothsayer that rents the apartments above the shoppe. She offers divination readings for those that would like a little extra guidance in their lives. Appointments can be made via The Enchanted Boutique.

Enchanted Guest Staff

A warm welcome: The Boutique sometimes serves as a haven for those in need. They are not a charity or guesthouse, but they won't turn away old friends and others who ask for a place to stay. Guests usually end up helping in the shoppe if the stay is an extended one.Madam Winter Prairie: Winter is an old friend of Madam Maudine's who is currently visiting. This Viera woman sometimes struggles with the unspoken rules of Ishgard, not really understanding why things have to be 'so stuffy all the time'. She brings some levity to an otherwise rather self-serious place, but has so far not found a good 'fit' when it comes to work. She therefor acts as a bit of a Jack-of-all-trades until she can find something that sticks, or her adventurous spirit takes her elsewhere. Whichever comes first.Mx Cillenne Rose: Cillenne is an Elezen from Gridania with a talent for enchantment. While they are part of the CETEA sky pirate crew, a recent encounter with another dangerous illusionist has seen them somewhat adrift. They were welcomed to stay at the Boutique by Miss Gwen, and helpt with enchantments.

Commissions

Didn't find what you were looking for? Don't hesitate to inquire about our commissions. The Boutique offers custom jewelry commissions, including but not limited to: rosaries, pomanders, name rings, and charms. Our Enchantress also does personalized enchants, glamours, and can enchant personal items either bought from the Boutique or brought in from home.

Rosaries

The Enchanted Boutique has a large variety of rosaries in stock at any time and for all price ranges. The simplest are crafted with wooden beads, while the more traditional (and expensive) types are made with gems or elemental crystals inlaid in mythril, silver, and rarely, gold. All our rosaries except the wooden ones are enchanted to keep their luster through many twelveturns of use and are melded with piety materia that will help focus one's mind on prayer. For those not of Ishgardian descent: rosaries are often mistaken for religious jewelry by those not intricately familiar with Ishgardian tradition. Please keep in mind that they are a prayer aid and should be respected as such. If in doubt whether or not it is appropriate to purchase, gift, or wear a rosary, feel free to inquire with our shoppe clerk.

Styles

Traditional: These rosaries have the shape of a necklace and often show the Sign of the Spear or a depiction of Halone. Commonly carried by the faithful.Bracelet: Bracelet style rosaries are smaller and often lack the idol that traditional rosaries depict. This style is more commonly worn, though often underneath long sleeves directly on the skin.Rings: Small rosaries that can be worn as a ring for an easily accessible and subtle prayer aid. Used by Knight and Brumeborn alike, though for widely different reasons. Poorer folk often go for wooden rosary rings due to their relatively cheap cost, while Knights may wear the ring for how easily one may carry it upon the field with less risk of damaging or losing it.

Please note that the above information about rosaries is a combination of in-game lore and real-life use information. Feel free to ignore our interpretation entirely if you have a different view on how they are used in FFXIV.

Tips from our staff

Amanette: "While some may be happy with a simple pre-made rosary, I always advise commissioning one if one has the time and money. That way I can craft one that fits your personal taste and needs perfectly. Why settle for less in your devotion?"

Charms

Charms are small decorative trinkets that are commonly worn on a bracelet. In their purest form, they are symbolic and meaningful to the owner, who can mix and match different charms on their bracelet to customize it to their personal style. Here at Enchanted we go several steps beyond that. The first step is the ability to commission individual charms so one can have something truly unique to them. The other is that we encourage people to choose specific enchants and glamours that serve their needs.

Materials

Our charms are usually shaped from high quality silver, but mythril and (rose) gold are favoured to a lesser degree as well.Depending on the materials chosen and our jewelmaker's availability, it can take up to a moon for an individual charm to be crafted.Below you'll find our most commonly crafted and sold charm styles.

Halonic: Most people choose to have at least one Halonic charm on their bracelet, be it a miniature rosary, an idol of the Goddess, or the sign of the Spear.
Common enchantments: protection, concentration/piety.
Gemstone charms: A popular choice, adding colour and variety to the bracelet. The stones can be faceted, raw or cut en cabochon. Many people assign special properties to specific stones, adding extra meaning. Crystals can also be used as well, elementally charged or not.
Common enchantments: cosmetic, protection, elemental, spellcraft.
Passion: Passion charms are a depiction of one's personality and often symbolize someone's hobbies and passions. Those that enjoy music, for example, may choose a charm in the shape of a musical note. If one finds falconry their main passion, a charm in the shape of a bird might draw your attention.
Common enchantments: cosmetic, enchantments that aid in the hobby.

Luck & protection: Symbols that are commonly associated with good luck or protection are commonly purchased as gifts for another.
Common enchantments: protection, warding, locking.
Relationship: Another style of charm that is commonly purchased as a gift for another, usually a love interest or close friend. The charm depicts something that has meaning to the pair, or symbolizes a wish for the future. Someone who is hoping to court, for example, may choose a charm in the shape of a rose.
Common enchantments: cosmetic, spellcraft.
Affiliation: These charms depict the wearer's affiliation, be it their House, Guild, Free Company, and whatever else they may feel a strong connection to. These are always commissioned.
Common enchantments: cosmetic, spellcraft, locking.

Tips from our staff

Gwenolie: "Charms are my favourite thing to enchant. There are just so many options, and if you can't choose, well, just get another charm!"

Enchantments

Enchantments are the Boutique's bread and butter, and the wide variety we have on offer are too numerous to list here. Below is an abbreviated summary of our most commonly sold enchantments.

  • Glimmer - Puts a beautiful sheen on metals, crystals, and gems

  • Sturdy - Prevents breakage, even when used heavily every sun

  • Surefooted - Prevents slipping on ice

  • Cleansing - A spotless house with minimal effort

  • Cosmetic - Change your hair, dress, eyes, etc with the flick of a wand

  • Location - Prevent losing precious items

  • Shine - For a subtle glow that draws the eye

Materia

Our Enchantress is trained in the melding of materia into apparel and jewelry. Materia we currently have in stock in varying levels of purity:

  • Quickarm

  • Quicktongue

  • Piety

  • Craftsman (varied)

  • Gatherer (varied)

Because we are not a shoppe that caters to the pursuits of war, we don't offer any purely combat related materia or enchantments.

Tips from our staff

Gwenolie: "Some of our patrons might wonder about enchants and materia purely used to enhance one's abilities in combat. We are not a shoppe well-versed in the pursuits of war however, and therefor must insist that those in need of such things visit the many armouries and weapon shops across the city. "

Jewelry

Jewelry sold in the Boutique is expertly crafted but nothing too elaborate if not commissioned. They are often meant to be purchased for the materia and enchantment placed on them more than as eye-catchers.In the lower bracket we see jewelry made of wood, tin, and bronze.
Commonly used materials in the higher brackets are ivory, silver, gold, and mythril, inlaid with gems or (elemental) crystals.

Rings

Plain bands of (semi) precious metals offer a good basis for enchants or materia and can be surprisingly affordable, though many opt to have jewels added for extra flair. Miss Amanette can also make rings of troth or naming rings on request, but these are always commissioned.

Bracelets

Like rings, bracelets can offer a good basis for enchantments or materia. The Boutique mostly sells charm bracelets with the idea that the individual charms (also sold at the shoppe) hold different spells and can be adjusted for the day's needs.

Necklaces

Simple bands with a jewel or crystal as its centerpiece are most commonly enchanted with magic that allows the user to change the colour or look of one's attire.

Earrings

Earrings are most commonly used for cosmetic enchants that change things about one's facial appearance or hair. Also often used as a setting for linkpearls.

Tips from our staff

Amanette: "My specialty may be rosaries, but those skills have served me well in my persuit to become a true jewelmaker. I hope you enjoy my handiwork, but don't be shy to request something special."

Crystals and gemstones

Enchanted has a small selection of crystals and gemstones on offer. This is because most of them are used in the creation of other items, and are only shown in the shop as an option for commissioned goods.

Crystals

Crystals are used mostly for their elemental affinity or as a source of aether for spellwork. They are only available in small amounts due to regulations around the selling of crystals because of their use in the summoning of primals.

Gemstones

Gemstones available in the Boutique include but is not limited to:

  • Amber

  • Amethyst

  • Beryl (like aquamarine and emerald)

  • Diamond

  • Garnet

  • Glass

  • Jade

  • Opal

  • Pearl

  • Quartz (like amethyst and rose quartz)

  • Sapphire

Tips from our staff

Gwenolie: "Please do not purchase any crystals for the purpose of spellwork unless you know what you're doing. I'm available for tips and lessons per request!"

Cosmetics

Here at Enchanted, we believe that the best cosmetics are glamours linked to beautiful jewelry. It's better for the skin, your coin purse, and saves you the time it would take to apply and remove the make-up. That said, we do have some traditional make-up as well as a variety of skin care lotions.

Traditional make-up

A small variety of lipstick, eye shadow, mascara, foundations, rouges as well as black eye pencil.

Lotions

Lotions for skin care in different scents and for every skin type.

Glamours

Glamours are enchantments that alter one's appearance, often linked to jewelry or clothing. Our specialties are glamoured charms for a charm bracelet that can be mixed and matched, earrings, and custom enchants on jewelry with effects like:

  • A variety of make-up styles and colours

  • Alternate hair styles and colours

  • Alternate eye colours and/or make-up

  • The effect of lipsticks without the stains or fading

  • Wardrobe changes

  • Nail polishes and nail art

  • Tattoos

Tips from our staff

Maudine: "Once you go glamour, it's hard to go back to regular cosmetics. The benefits are endless. It never smears or fades, is applied by simply wearing the jewelry, can be slept in and not once does it dry out your skin or cause irritation. What more can one want?"

Incense and scented oils

We offer a variety of incense and scented oils. Use it to help focus your prayers, for meditations, or just to enjoy their natural perfumes. Some of our most popular scents are:

  • Myrrh

  • Frankincense

  • Sandalwood

  • Althyk Lavender

Scented candles

Our scented candles get their bouquets from either oils or enchantment. The former is the more affordable option, and we have mainly flowery fragrances available.Enchanted candles can smell like pretty much anything you want, and are often made to smell like someone's (or their beloved's) favourite perfume.

Burners

Our burners are made of wood or stone and are treated with special enchants that make them easy to clean and prevents fire risks.

Pomanders

Pomanders are spherical compartmentalized jewels that can be used for perfumes like ambergris, musk, or civet, but can also house potpourri or fragrant herbs. They are a passion-project for Amanette, each one taking several moons and a lot of gil to craft, and are therefore rarely sold.As with everything in The Enchanted Boutique, our pomanders can also house glamours, materia, spells, or enchantments.

Tips from our staff

Amanette: "Pomanders are my favourite thing to make, perhaps even more so than rosaries. Hm? Have I ever heard of Gelmorra? No, what is that?"

Foreign curios

With our borders fully open, foreign imports are flourishing for those who have the gil to pay for them. The Enchanted Boutique has a small selection of these imports, but their availability changes often. Please inquire with our staff for the current selection.

Eorzea and beyond

Availability is limited, but the Enchanted is interested in stocking items from a variety of locales, from the Eorzean city states to as far away as Thavnair and Doma.

Tips from our staff

Gwenolie: "The most common items we can stock at an affordable price are teas, but alchemical potions from Radz-at-han are becoming quite popular as well."

Divinations

Madam Maudine Dubois offers divination readings using her custom deck of cards. She is not a trained Astrologian and doesn't claim to know the future, but aims to offer insights and understanding when dealing with the problems of the future.Visitors can get a small glimpse of her readings in the Boutique by interacting with the small Mandragora door tucked away at the back of the shoppe. A small plaque next to it explains the steps.

Offer three knocks upon my door,
Then add two bashful blinks.
Take single coin - no less no more,
For your heart I will glimpse.
Drop down to waters - clean and cool,
Then reach bravely within.
Be you wise or be you fool,
We will see what fate may spin.
If the instructions are followed, one may find the waters in the small pool to be a clever illusion. A card will come to hand, serving as both a business card for Madam Dubois and an initial Choosing card with a message for the person that drew it.Next is a description of the cards, based on the Major Arcana.
All the cards have a linkpearl in their artwork that can be activated by using their special phrase.

The Cards

The cards are modified versions of the Major Arcana in tarot. I have described them below for reference.Maudine currently uses a deck based on Mandragoras, which are incorporated into the art on the front of the card. They all share design elements, like a stylized top border with a crystal circle embossed in the middle on which the card's number is etched. This crystal also serves as a link pearl and can be used to contact Maudine for appointments or to listen in with her sporadic pearlcast where she reads people their daily card. The pearl is activated using the card's special phrase as described below. One may find this phrase at the back. There you can also find a short description with the keywords and meaning of the card.

The Mandragora Court

Also known as the Major Arcana. The Mandragora Court watches over life lessons and how your actions may influence the Aetherial Sea. It also deals with big archetypal themes that may influence your life.Interacting with the Mandragora Door may summon any of the 22 options from the Court, as detailed below.Heed their lessons well, as they do not take kindly to those who ignore them. For those wondering about the Minor Arcana: these cards cannot be summoned with this ritual, but they are included when Madam Dubois does a full reading for a client. These Suits can be found here.

The Garlic Jester

Also known as The Fool. Number 0 in the deck. The card shows a Garlic Jester on the edge of a cliff in a mountainous, sunny landscape. They are chasing a beautiful blue-winged butterfly, and it looks as if they might leap off the cliff in pursuit of the critter at any moment.Garlic Jester, hear my plea.
My Inner Child known, so mote it be.
Keywords: The Searcher, To Discover, Inner Child, Awakening, Innocence.
Description: The Garlic Jester may indicate the appearance of a naive yet wise person that represents both simplicity and a special kind of insightfulness. They represent the Inner Child, a dimension of one's being that is not limited by fear or negativity and always willing to embark on a new adventure.
The Garlic Jester often indicates an exciting new undertaking or a new spiritual journey. The card tells you to listen to your heart and make your dreams come true. It's not all sunshine and rainbows however. There is always a chance for failure when trying something new. One might fail and regret their choices, but risk is what makes us not just survive, but live. When drawn in reverse, the Garlic Jester may indicate recklessness. It warns against an irresponsible attitude and carelessness that will be destructive.

The Mandragora Mage

Also known as The Magician. Number 1 in the deck. The card drawn shows a violet-coloured Mandragora wearing the classical pointy mage's hat with a wand in their leaf-like hand. They sit next to a cauldron of which multi-coloured vapour rises that glitters slightly when a nearby lightsource catches it. They seem to be in the middle of a ritual or alchemical pursuit, and fully focused on their task.Mandragora Mage, hear my plea.
My Self-Determination known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Confidence, Self-Determination, Leading, Enacting Change, Competence.
Description: The Mandragora Mage stands for confidence and self-determination - the power to enact change. They remind us that we are in control of our own lives and that we are able to get what we want. Be ready to channel your confidence into great things when this card appears.
The Mandragora Mage is one of the most powerful cards in the deck. It may indicate the presence of an influential person appearing in your life to help you change things for the better. It may also indicate and important development in one's career, spirituality or health. This is the moment to go out into the world and discover what you want. The reversed Mage warns against the abuse of power. One should always consider their own motivations before trying to change things. The ends do not always justify the means. Be ye wary of a charming person that cannot be trusted.

The Sage Soothsayer

Also known as The High Priestess. Number 2 in the deck.On this card is a femine-looking Mandragora, with dark green instead of brown colouring on her facial markings and 'cloak' and a cluster of blooming sage flowers on the top side of her head. She sits behind a table with a lightly incandescent crystal ball that she peers into. It shimmers like mother of pearl when the card is tilted.Sage Soothsayer, hear my plea.
My Inner Voice known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Foresight, Insight, Discovery, Inner Voice, Silence.
Description: The Sage Soothsayer is a wise woman that is very intuitive. She is able to discover hidden truths and embodies the Ishgardian notion of the subtle strength in noblewomen.
The Soothsayer often indicates a psychic revelation that may come to you in a dream, the feeling of a Higher Power in your life, or being intensely focused on your spiritual self. A new insight may clarify your life's purpose. The card has a quiet energy that encourages you to withdraw from the world for a while to find your inner voice. The Soothsayer's power is more passive than dynamic and she teaches us that it is sometimes better to wait, look, and learn so your inner voice may guide you without you trying to force it.When drawn in reverse, the Sage Soothsayer indicates an unwillingness to listen to one's intuition. Too much independence and solitude may also make one egotistical and hard to deal with for others.

The Mandragora Queen

Also known as The Empress. Number 3 in the deck. The Mandragora Queen sits atop an ornate wooden throne covered in greenery and the same pink flowers that she sports on her head. She gazes regally at the holder of the card. Her head is adorned with a silver crown out of which stars burst forth. Next to her throne stands a young Kidragora, looking up at what is presumably their mother.Mandragora Queen, hear my plea.
My Generosity known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Generosity, Caring, Prosperity, Security, Reassurance.
Description: The Mandragora Queen is dedicated to earthly concerns and sensual pleasures. She embodies prosperity, fertility, and care for others.
The Queen reminds you that you are a physical being with material needs. Her presence suggests that you are overloaded with material blessings and that you feel comfortable and satisfied. She is a practical, nurturing mothercrystal figure who gives life and provides subsistence. She may indicate that business ventures will provide wealth and that past efforts will be rewarded. We reap what we sow.You creative potential may be fed. If there are any health problems, the Queen may lend her strength. In short: everything is provided for. She also reminds us of the importance of family and House. If drawn in reverse, the Queen may indicate a stiffing presence, especially towards a partner or family member. It may also show the neglect of one's own needs in favour of taking care of others. There could also be issues with fertility, or a lack of a creative outlet.

The Tomato King

Also known as The Emperor. Number 4 in the deck. The Tomato King on this card sits sternly on his ornate throne, holding a scepter in his leaf that seems heavy, almost a burden. On his ruby head sits a golden crown set with jewels.Tomato King, hear my plea.
My Authority known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Strenght, Enforcing Your Will, Shaping the World, Authority, Assertiveness.
Description: The Tomato King is a leader, breadwinner or authority figure. When he appears in the deck there might be a new person like that in your life, often a masculine one. He could be a mentor, father-figure, or potential partner.
The Tomato King may also indicate that one must gain access to this side of oneself, or that you need to be methodical about solving an issue. This could be anything from finding a new occupation or solving a problem in a relationship. A structured plan one can follow step by step is advised for better results than one from the heart.Even spiritual growth requires self-discipline and regular practice, as the Tomato King embodies. When drawn in reverse, the King indicates the presence of an overly dominant individual, too much focus on power, or narrow-mindedness in one's thinking. It may be time to open yourself up to the ideas of others.

The Artichoke Archbishop

Also known as The Hierophant. Number 5 in the deck. The head of the Mandragora on this card is a green bud with numerous triangular scales. They wear the attire of an Ishgardian archbishop, including a white mitre with golden trimming. In their leaf-hand sits an open book, to which they gaze as if in total concentration. More books lay about them, some looking well read while others appear brand new.Artichoke Archbishop, hear my plea.
My Morality known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Established Habit, Tradition, Respect, Morality, Religious Study.
Description: The Artichoke Archbishop is a philosopher and spiritual leader. Their appearance indicate that one is searching for answers about the meaning of life.
Unlike the Sage Soothsayer, who encourages people to find these answers within oneself, the Arichoke Archbishop symbolizes following a path that is established for you by others, like the religious practices of the Holy See.The card may indicate the presence of a trustworthy spiritual teacher, priest, or therapist that may guide you on a journey of discovery. It remains important however to question what you are told and to not blindly follow the path of another. Avoid conformity for the sake of pleasing others. The Archbishop may also indicate that you're focused on the need of a group instead of the needs of an individual. The reversed Archbishop warns against a respected figure that people obey without question who might be a hypocrite who preaches falsehoods or claims to know more than they do. Are you perhaps denying the truth out of respect for a leader?

The Leek Lovers

Also known as The Lovers. Number 6 in the deck. This Card shows the Onion Prince and Leek Maid in a warm, loving embrace. The sun shines down on them with golden rays as they stand in a field of colourful flowers. They might be dancing or just holding one another, but either way they seem very happy.Lovers, hear my plea.
My Dedication known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Attraction, Harmony, Synergy, Two Options, Dedication.
Description: Although the Onion Prince and Leek Maid clearly love one another very much, this card by no means only speaks of romance. Sometimes they indicate there's a choice to be made between two options. It could be a choice between two different goals, the spiritual or the material, or your emotional and intellectual side.
That said, The Lovers may indeed also indicate that you've found a soul mate and that your relationship will last. Dedicated relationships as we often practice in Ishgard do mean turning your back on other options however. The card suggests that if there is a choice ahead of you that it is incredibly important, but assures you that happiness will come of it as long as you choose with intuition and wisdom. They may also indicate success in any endeavor that involves the joining of two people or groups, be it business, friendship, or indeed a romantic partnership. When drawn in reverse, the Lovers warn that indecisiveness may make opportunities pass you by. There may also be a conflict within a relationship. Perhaps there is a third party at play. A divorce or ending of a relationship seems likely.

The Chili Chariot

Also known as The Chariot. Number 7 in the deck. This card shows an Eggplant Knight in a chariot drawn by two swift chocobos, one yellow and one black as night. The Knight seems pleased with themselves as they speed along a country road, like they've just returned from victorious battle. The chariot is a light yellow colour with several chili motives along its side.Chili Chariot, hear my plea.
My Triumph known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Winning, Progress, Triumph, Trust, Drive.
Description: The Chili Chariot celebrates that part of you that is strong and determined to get your way. They stand for confidence and perseverance, willpower and believing in oneself.
Drawing this card suggests that you've defeated your enemies and have triumphed in battle. This victory may be big or small, a literal or figurative battle. Whatever it might have been, it indicates a feeling of triumph and of getting your way. The Chili Chariot invites you to enjoy your victory and the pride it may draw from you.The Chariot in reverse suggests that your strong character has made you arrogant and uncaring about the feelings of others. Vindictiveness and schadenfraude are not befitting of a real victor!

Strength

Also known as Strength. Number 8 in the deck.Strength is the first of the more abstract cards in the deck, unlike the archetypes and objects of precious cards. It depicts a Mandragora riding a fierce Bandersnatch in a forested background. Orange, yellows, and reds dominate the landscape, as both the forest and the Mandragora are draped in autumn colours.Strength, hear my plea.
My Willpower known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Steadfast, Mental Balance, Developed Skills, Willpower, Success.
Description: To live is to face difficulties, and the hardest battles are often fought with oneself. This card is both a call to be brave enough to channel rage, fear, and doubt and a reassurance that you possess the strength to overcome them.
Strength is considered to be a very fortunate draw and often appears at a crucial moment in one's life. A moment where decisions can have far-reaching and positive consequences. It shows that you've developed enough wisdom and insight to no longer be at the mercy of the ego with its uninhibited and egotistical urges. You have the willpower and self-control needed to use your strength with intelligence and respect. This makes you capable of reaching your creative energy and potential.Strength in reverse suggests a loss of control. Perhaps you've let your negative urges rule you, possibly in the form of an addiction. There's a loss of willpower and a lack of faith that you will succeed. You may need help from others to win this battle.

The Hazelnut Hermit

Also known as The Hermit. Number 9 in the deck. This card depicts the entrance of a dark cave, in front of which sits a Mandragora figure with a head shaped and coloured like a hazelnut. They are wearing a dark grey cloak and hood, and hold a staff with a luminous lantern out in front of them.Hazelnut Hermit, hear my plea.
My Enlightenment known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Enlightenment, Loneliness, Reflection, Meditation, Self-Realization.
Description: All spiritual journeys require a period where one withdraws from the material world to focus the mind on an inner journey. The Hazelnut Hermit embodies this feeling of seclusion and self-sufficiency.
Drawing the Hermit is a clear message to take it easier and to simplify things. Silent reflection is needed. Meditation or prayer can be worthwhile aid in this endeavor. In other cases it is enough to diminish social or work obligations where possible, and use the extra time for solitude. This is not the time to walk the path of another, but one should forge their own way. Do this slowly and thoughtfully. Your self-awareness should grow with each step taken. The Hazelnut Hermit in reverse can indicate someone is withdrawing from the world as the result of a defense of avoidance mechanism. It may also suggest someone is trying to avoid their responsibilities or duties. You may create an false sense of reality by closing yourself off from others and their opinions. Try to remain open-minded.

The Elemental Wheel

Also known as Wheel of Fortune. Number 10 in the deck. Many Eorzeans are familiair wth the Elemental Wheel depicted on this card, though this version doesn't have a regular tree at its center. Instead there is an ancient-looking tree-like Mandragora looking wisely up from the card.Elementals, hear my plea.
My Cause and Effect known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Surrender, Sudden Change, Cause and Effect, Ups and Downs, Unpredictability.
Description: Life has its valleys and its hills. If we constantly let outside factors control our emotions we will be forever tossed about between the varying storms along our path. The Elemental Wheel reminds us of the importance of keeping balance as things can change at any moment.
The card also depicts those aspects in life that we have no control over. Oftentimes this can mean a windfall or a chance meeting with positive consequences. But no one can predict or control the Wheel and which way it may turn. Try and see the changing of it as a chance for new growth. Be grateful for new situations and try and see what you may learn from them. The Wheel in reverse indicated an unexpected setback. This is not the time to start a new adventure. You have no control over the situation and can't gain an advantage. Trust on your inner strength to weather the situation. The Wheel will turn again.

Justice

Also known as Justice. Number 11 in the deck.Front and center on this card is a scale that is perfectly balanced, with next to it a Mandragora wearing a blindfold holding a double-edged sword aloft. It is unclear what it is measuring, though it appears to be a variety of tree leafs.Justice, hear my plea.
My Balance known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Balance, Consequences, Honesty, Arbitrage, Restoring Order.
Description: Justice is another one of the more abstract cards, depicted by a scale that holds the balance between two sides. The double-edged sword shows us that the results can go both ways, or that there might be both positive and negative consequences.
Justice is about honesty. It implies that the right decision has been made or that the current situation is the result of your past actions. It can imply a literal trial, but more often suggest a choice must be made where both options should be carefully considered.Past actions may be important. If you've done bad things you can expect consequences, though if you've been kind you may expect the same in turn. Justice urges you to take responsibility and to acknowledge mistakes made in the past.Justice drawn in reverse suggest that the situation is unfair, but that there is no point in protesting that. Things don't always go like you want them to go, or even how they should go. Remain calm and stoic. Avoid judging others, as you don't have all the facts.

The Hanged One

Also known as The Hanged One. Number 12 in the deck. This card shows a Mandragora who is tangled up in dark green and purple vines. At first it appears to be struggling against an outside source, but a closer inspection of those vines shows us that they are actually growing from the Mandragora themselves.Hanged One, hear my plea.
My Life Change known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Initiation, Surrender, The Unknown, Deep Insight, Big Life Changes.
Description: It is rare to get what you want without great effort. Most tales have their heroes go through a period of hardship and sacrifice. They suffer through them knowing that the reward will be worth it.
When the Hanged One appears in a draw it means that a problem has its purpose and reasons. Sometimes it requires a literal sacrifice but it may also mean that you may have to give up a long-held belief in favour of new ideas. Letting go is painful and your life will never be the same again, but in the end there will be greater rewards. The Hanged One in reverse questions if the sacrifice is necessary or driven by an exaggerated sense of duty. One should reflect on what keeps them from striving for their own needs and desires.

Death

Also known as Death. Number 13 in the deck.A withered Mandragora lies lifeless in a yellowing grassy field, surrounded by small sprouts all around it.Death, hear my plea.
My Transformation known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Change, Transformation, Clear Away, Acceptance, Looking Forward.
Description: Death is often a feared card, even though it rarely suggests literal death. Instead it is often a metaphor indicating the end of something.
This may come with a sense of loss and grief, but one may need to clear away the old to make room for a new beginning. Death shows us that there is a chance for change. It is never wise to fight the inevitable, no matter how much it may hurt. Your pain may lessen if you can see the necessity of the loss.Death encourages us to accept what we cannot change and to distance ourselves from the past. Nothing will remain the same, and everything must end eventually.Death in reverse suggests a fear of letting go and the refusal to move on. In some cases it may also mean a fear of literal death, but more often than not it is about change and how one deals with it.

Temperance

Also known as Temperance. Number 14 in the deck. This card shows a Mandragora sitting between two golden chalices, between which a rainbow flows from one to the other. It is impossible to see which direction it flows, just that it does without stop.Temperance, hear my plea.
My Harmony known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Compromise, Harmony, Cooperation, Tolerance, Adjustment.
Description: Temperance is a harmonizing card that offers a respite between powerful and possibly life-changing forces. The endless stream between the chalices depicts an uninterrupted stream of aetherical energy that is in a constant state of movement and balance. It is not unlike the Lifestream in that way.
This card urges you to be patient, to work with others, and find a middle ground. It shows a mature attitude where excess and extreme emotions are reigned in.When drawn in reverse, Temperance may indicate that you are paralyzed by indecision, or that different opinions can cause strife. The emotions involved seem uncontrollable and there is little incentive to cooperate. Take the time to look inwards, to re-evaluate the situation and to find the right perspective.

The Dragon

Also known as The Devil. Number 15 in the deck. This card shows a huge dragon swooping down from the sky towards a brave Eggplant Knight holding his lance aloft.Dragon, hear my plea.
My Self-Determination known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Ambition, Indulgence, Extravagance, Hedonism, Abuse of Power.
Description: While Ishgard's relationship with dragonkind has improved over the seasons, the Dragon card still stands for basic selfish instincts, rampant lust, and greed in this spread. This ferocious energy can, however, also be a creative power. If we are strong enough to control it.
The card reminds us that we all have a Dragon in our souls - we can't just blame our negative impulses on external forces alone. It is important to recognize them so we can learn to control our darker aspects. The Dragon warns us against letting ourselves be misguided, not to emphasize psychical pleasures and satisfaction, or to not only chase one's own desires in a way that is detrimental to oneself and others.Perhaps you've made the wrong choices or are unclear about another's motivations. Start taking steps to end an unhealthy situation. The reversed Dragon suggests that you've come to realize that negative habits or egotistical choices have led you down an unhappy path.

Description: The Tower is the only building in the deck, and stands for the structures and walls we build to help make ourselves feel safe. These structures can be concrete, like our houses, abstract like the professional or social persona we show to the world, or emotional like the relationships that offer solace from the outside world.
The Tower on this card is struck by lightning, showing a catastrophe that may level it to the ground. Something disruptive may happen, like the ending of a relationship or business venture, or something else that may make you lose faith in yourself. It is a destructive card, but perhaps there is also room for a change or liberation from the old. Once the structures we've build around ourselves are destroyed there may be room for other, better things to take their place. A better way of life is possible. The Tower in reverse suggests an unpleasant event that happens as the result of your own actions, or that you're in denial and are trying to avoid the inevitable. Be open to the help of others, either from other people or from the universe. This card may indicate that you're about to walk down a path leading to spiritual or creative satisfaction. Don't forget that the Star is not concerned with the material down-to-Eorzea side of life. It could be your task to find a way to combine your idealism with the practical. The Star in reverse may indicate the presence of self-interest or the loss of an ideal. Perhaps a relationship or idea is losing its shine and you are becoming aware of problems that you previously didn't notice.

My Self-Determination known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Breakthrough, Boost, Good Health, Freedom, Achievement.
Description: The Sun is hailed in myths and stories for her vital tole in maintaining life. When she appears in your spread you'll know you'll have the enthusiasm and vitality to handle anything that may come across your path.
The Sun shows us that is is your time to shine, and that the circumstances are in your favour. There might be a promotion or other kind of small fortune coming, or perhaps others are drawn to the energy you're radiating at the moment. It is a wonderful time for socializing and fun. Do not waste this opportunity. This is a moment where you are the center of the universe, and in that moment our desires become feasable and we should enjoy the moment. The Sun in reverse can indicate that we may be shining so brightly that we're blinding others. Be ware that you're not coming across as arrogant or superior to others. It may also mean that your light is fading. Chances may slip away just like the light of the Sun pales when she sets.

Judgement

Also known as Judgement. Number 20 in the deck. The Mandragora King and Queen sit opposed each other, looking up to were a figure sits high above them on grey cloud. The figure is hard to make out against the glare of the sun behind them, but appears to be humanoid and vaguely femine in shape. Some Ishgardians might recognize her as Halone, though others may interpret her in a different light.Judgement, hear my plea.
My Responsibility known, so mote it be.
Keywords: Responsibility, Decisions, Forgiveness, Liability, Confidence.
Description: Life is full of possibility, but some decisions are final. Judgement is the one that rules over such decisions. They can be very important, including big life decisions, but they may also be small and almost insignificant in comparison. What they all have in common is that once a position has been chosen there is no way back.
If this card was drawn as part of a spread it is important to look at the surrounding cards to see where Judgement is needed. If drawn with the Lovers, for example, it indicated a decision in the relationship department is needed. If drawn with the Artichoke Archbishop, it may indicate the importance of remaining loyal to your convictions.Whatever the decision may be; you are ready to balance your strengths and weaknesses. This card ensures you that your judgement is sound, with the perfect balance twixt you intuitive self and your logical thinking mind.Judgement in reverse may indicate that a fear of making decisions or being too reliant on the opinions of others can lead you to missing an opportunity.

When this card shows itself to you it shows a moment in your life where a wanted destination had been reached. This is the moment to breathe and appreciate that.Perhaps it is time to give something back to the people who have helped you get here. You may experience a new sense of connection and belonging and can express this by being friendly to others or a form of charity. This card may also indicate that a long journey abroad is about to begin.Hydaelyn in reverse suggests you feel like you're standing still, or you're scared of new possibilities. Mature Content Ahead!

While nothing on this Carrd is particularly NSFW, I do want to warn people that there will be references to sexuality ahead. If you find that distasteful or are a minor, please turn away.

Enchanted Evenings

Though Ishgard is changing since the end of the Dragonsong War, some habits and social expectations die hard. Women in particular are still expected to be humble and chaste in many circles, devoted to their families and Halone. What happens behind the closed doors of one's bedchambers is our own business however. And for those that seek a bit of private adventure, alone or with a partner, we offer the means for some very special Enchanted Evenings.

In the know

Though these curios and services technically don't break any Halonic laws that the staff is aware of, it is still in everyone's best interest to be discreet. The Boutique uses a referral system where a new customer is introduced by an already existing one, to minimize the chance that untowards gossip reaches the icy streets of Ishgard.

OOC

Yes, there is secret sex shop in the basement.
No, we do not invite random gratuitous erotic roleplay.
We've used Rosaire's Lore Compilation as a basis for the views some Ishgardians might have on sexuality, especially that of women. Chastity would be expected in many circles, and although the city may be changing since the end of the Dragonsong War, we go by the assumption that social and religious taboos aren't easily broken.Enchanted Evenings serves as a shadow culture made mostly for and by Ishgardian women, as a means to spread more sex-positivity in a discreet and hopefully fun manner. Men and non-Ishgardians that feel a connection to that creed are welcomed too. It is both IC and OOC LGTB+ friendly. Please note that this is not meant as a brothel, however.Scenes with Enchanted Evenings are only done as per request, and can include things like the purchasing of sex-toys and sexually focused enchants, commissioning special items and/or simply as a place where people can discuss things a little more openly than one might normally expect in Ishgard.Feel free to contact us OOC to request such a scene. The usual applies: no minors, be respectful of boundaries & please communicate intentions beforehand. We don't do charm-like spells or love potions and the like.

Evening Curios

For those that seek a little bit of adventure in the bedchamber, we offer various curios to spice things up a bit. Below is a list of examples, though as always the Boutique is best when commissioned.

  • Phallic devices of various kinds and sizes

  • Lubricants & massage oils

  • Various vibration devices
